Executive Management Team

Michael R. Barrows LCSW CAC III, Deputy Director.  With the expansion of programming, Mike has been promoted to overseeing clinical services throughout Jefferson Hills.  Previously, Mike was the Clinical Program Director at our Aurora site, overseeing the Staff Secure Residential program and the Child/Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit.  Mike, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Addictions Counselor III, has been with Jefferson Hills since January 2015, coming to us with 27 years’ experience with mental health centers and residential child care facilities in Colorado. Mike also worked for Jefferson Hills as the Program Manager for the Offense Specific Units in Aurora from 1998 to 2006.  Between these two times, Mike was the Clinical Director for the Division of Youth Corrections at Mount View Youth Services Center.  Mike is also trained as a trainer for the Evidenced Based Practice, Motivational Interviewing.  Focuses for Mike include providing safe/secure, quality,  evidence based practices and programs for the children/youth and staff.   He has earned a reputation for being a positive, respected, and collaborative leader with strong decision-making and follow-through skills.

David Molineux, M.Ed., Director of Education. David has overseen the education services at all Jefferson Hills programs since 2001.  With over 25 years’ experience of providing education and vocational services to youth at risk in the UK and in the US, David has developed new education programs in the Denver, Grand Junction, and Colorado Springs areas.  He was also the first facility school director representative on the CDE Board for the past  three years.

Patty Rivers, M.S., C.P.A., Chief Financial Officer. Starting with Jefferson Hills in April, 2014, Patty brings her 16 years of accounting, HR, IT, and Maintenance experience to Jefferson Hills, having been in charge of financial management of residential, day treatment, community based, facility school programs in Colorado, as well as a tribal health initiative in Alaska.  Patty’s strategic and forward thinking mentality and skill provides Jefferson Hills with the needed expertise in the changing healthcare environment.

Karen O. Yarberry, M.A., L.P.C., Executive Director.  Karen is celebrating 30 years of working with Colorado’s children, youth, and families in a variety of residential, inpatient, and day treatment settings.  Being Executive Director at Jefferson Hills since 1995, she is passionate about improving the continuum of care for our at-risk children, integrating quality services, and partnering with entities for maximum benefit and resources.
